Another Landing Gear Question . .
Always suspected we had different than stock landing gear on our '10 one year old to us Monty, and thought they were Bulldog. Anyway, when packing up after 5 days boondocking, I must have retracted the gear too far (there was a LOT of background noise - a whole 'nother story) and messed up one leg. Upon getting home, dropping the feet (do that first with Bulldog types), and trying to raise the trailer, I noticed only one side was lifting. I tried retracting and only the one side went up - the street side wouldn't move. Somehow while troubleshooting, I managed to sheer the pin on the curb side (gears don't engage now & foot drops to the ground). Called the Bulldog folks and found I probably have one of their lighter models with one leg probably needing replacement and the other needing just a sheer pin.
OK, so now I'm thinking that if I've got to replace one leg, why not replace the whole thing and go for a two motor system. Looking at the Bulldog (I really like how their legs work!) 500170, 10k static, 7k lift. Anyone have this set? How do you like it?

I have no idea what the cost is on the set up you are referring to, but have you considered investing that money in installing a 6 point auto leveling system?

I'll be spending $1k for this set up. Fixing the old one would run around $500 if we're lucky. Where I am, it'll cost me over $4k for a Level Up and there's no dealer nearby I'd trust even then. We're planning on attending the fall rally, but can't wait.

I just Googled this item. Looks like a quality product. Many places shown as sellers...ebay, Amazon, etrailer, and Walmart (Highest cost). If you can install it yourself you can come in well under 1k. Google Bulldog rv landing gear and see.
On edit...I just viewed install video on this system and looks like an easy install with no welding and limited drilling.

Final cost comparison yesterday afternoon was close to $200 for one with shipping and $569 w/shipping for the Bulldog system from Got-Chrome.com. Ordered the Bulldog and it'll be coming tomorrow - right in the middle of our spring monsoon (4-6 inches of rain forecast). Since I've already got the Monty on jack stands, I'm going to install this thing myself, but not until next week as we've got stuff going on this weekend. Will post a new thread in Additions later.
