Bedroom Sconce surprise

While cleaning the rig before hitting the road for the winter I tested the lights in the bedroom and one of the sconces didn't work over the bed (the reading light). So after checking the new LED bulbs(thank you Mike) I removed it from the wall and found that the rear top half of the sconce was severely rusted and that the moisture had dribbled down into the switch. There is foam insulation on either side of the hole but a void directly behind the lamp hole. I would guess that during the cold weather the previous 5 yrs on the road caused condensation on the back of the sconce plate and causing the rust. I have replaced the switch and taped over the hold and wire run, and put a sheet of thin foam behind the sconce plate to keep it closer to room temp during cold weather. Just a heads up on this item, both lamps had same situation...Dave

Hard to escape cold weather period no matter where you go. Even FL and TX has its cold spells. Last winter was a very mild winter and hoping we have it happen again.
