Up & Up It Goes!!!!!

Up & up it goes......where it stops nobody knows. Over the weekend a 150K bbl/day refinery that belongs to Amerada Hess in St. Croix was unexpectedly shut down for repairs that could take up to two weeks. I went out this morning and gasoline has jumped in this area overnight 16 cents/gal and diesel is up 10 cents/gal. Futures markets yesterday were up 12.27 cents/gal. to $1.866/gal. A month ago futures were $1.38/gallon.

We just try not to look. Just fill it up...It hurts to much to watch the price go up then down, up, down....Don't need the stress....Remember NO STRESSING!

I have found that life has so much more to worry about than the price of fuel. Diesel here has jumped over 20 cents a gallon here in the past 2 days. I guess I will go back to my diet again, spend the food money on fuel and loose some weight in the process... =)

2.89 gallon for diesel here in Belfair Wa, increase of 24 cents in 4 days.Just bite the bullet and fill it up, what else are you going to do with oil company monopolies as they are and our government unwilling to take them on?

BOHICA! I sure would like to see an alternative - but given that distribution would be a real hurdle to overcome, it won't happen in my lifetime!

I dont care any more! you will buy, or you wont GO. it's that simple and there is nothing you or I can do about it except stay longer at the destination you booked.

Well, there isn't a lot we can do about it. Even Congresscan't get a straight answer out of the big oil companies. We could get on a box for all the good it would do. I would rather be going somewhere

Well, regular is $6.00 a gallon in Hong Kong. Of course, I am driving a Saab and have put less than a thousand miles on it since I have been here these seven months. It takes $800.00 Hk dollars to fill it up. That'll give you a financial hernia from the meter shock even if it is only $100.00 US. The odd thing is that diesel is cheaper than gasoline, you know, like it used to be in the States. It is a higher grade diesel too. I have real questions about the pricing by our oil companies.

Well the high cost of fuel WILL effect our travel plans. we will adjust our travel plans to reflect the Huge increase in fuel prices..We are retired and on a fixed income,These HUGE increases in oil and oil related products could not have been anticipated and factored into the retirement plan. We have a good income but still have only so many $ to spend each month. It is not just the cost of fuel..the high cost of oil affects us in many ways, Higher cost of campground fees due to the increased cost of CG operation, etc. It now cost 2.00 just to get the water running in the do it youreself car wash down the street. Cost me 7.00 to wash the truck. I do have a CDL with a passenger endorsement and we have called around in the RGV for "part time "Driving jobs and we have some leads..so we
may drive to defray some of the cost... We will live our dream..

Just a note. The average cost of a gal of Gas, (forget calif) in year 2000 was 1.35 per gal in 1999 .92 per gal..today prices 2.49 gal''who would have thunk///

The cost if fuel is crazy. I moves whether it is a new delivery or a price increase on what the dealer has in the ground.

I put a 50 gal. saddle tank on my unit after Katrina to avoid possible times of not finding fuel, now it gives me a cushion when I find it at a better price. It is in a range of 2.47 to 2.63 in the south, but I found a price war between 2 stations last week, bought 71 gal. at 2.35. This is when the tank is saving me some of my fixed income.
