Broken Plastic sheet under bedroom slide
Has anyone ever had to have the plastic sheeting under the bedroom slid out replaced. Mine has cracked and pieces have broken off. Nothing has gotten wet so not sure why it happened. Does the slide out have to be completely removed to fix it. Any info would be appreciated

Hi
I would think you could just glue what’s left to the bottom of the slide and then glue a patch over any holes. I would use something like contact cement. The real contact cement that is not the water based kind. I purchased a quart of it from Home Depot last month.

When that happened to our 2005, I just kept nailing it back up, with finish nails, but once it got caught in the slide so I completely removed it. That area never got wet so I just left it alone. Probably not the best solution but that was that.

My plan, if or when that happens, is to glue it back and patch the cracks with Gorilla tape. Don't know if that makes sense, but it's the plan at the moment.

It's quite common on 2005 and 2006 units. Ours was replaced at the service center during one of the fall rallies. Until then, I was thinking about filling in the plywood to get a smooth surface and then painting it. A thin sheet of Formica might also work but gluing it in place upside down might be a bit tricky.

When yours was replaced did they have to pull the slide or can you just remove the trim on the bottom of the slide, pull of the old and slide a new piece in-between the gasket and bottom.
