Travels Put on Hold for Now

Well, we had our Monty all packed last month and we were 1 day away from leaving NY, heading south and west. I had just had my yearly mammogram done the day before, and received that dreaded call. Something suspicious showed up on my mammo, and I needed to come back to have more testing. After an ultrasound, I was told that I needed to see a breast surgeon for a biopsy. This showed I had Invasive Breast Cancer. It has been a very rough month, but luckly, it was caught very early and it didn't spread. I just had a lumpectomy 2 days ago, and will need to have radiation treatments. Al and I are hoping we can head out sometime in January or February, but for now we are making the best out of it, and are just thankful the news wasn't worse.

Our prayers are with you both. What a shock! We hope you're back on the road soon, but as always, your health comes first.

As a cancer survivor I can say, at least from my own experience, that a positive, consistebt "I can beat this." attitude will make all the difference.
Best of luck to you.

Nita: Betty and I are so sorry to hear this. But as you said you found it early and aggressively took on the surgery and treatment. We have good thoughts for you and certainly have you an Al in our prayers.
