Comfort control 2

I just got my new 2013 Montana. Just checking out some of the new features. LED interior lighting, Automatic leveling etc. One new feature is the comfort control 2 thermostat. My 2009 had the comfort control 1 in it. With this new thermostat when you turn the furnace on the A/C fan runs as well. All seems to work OK but the fan runs on the A/C unit. There is no compressor just the fan. Is this normal? It seems that it circulates heat more evenly.

Thanks
Dave

My thermostat doesn't cause that effect when running the furnace. The only fan operating is the one in the furnace. I think your thermostat is confused.

We have the same thermostat, although we only have the one zone, I would assume the second AC would represent zone 2. These do also have two separate programs, 1 and 2

Since these do have two programs, it might be possible to have #1 set to have the furnace come on at lets say 8:00 am with the temp set at 65 degrees. Maybe if program #2 is set to have the Fan come on and the time is the same on both programs the AC fan might be on while the furnace is working. It is not normal for both to be on.

Try setting program #1 to Furn and program #2 to Off and see if that makes a difference.

One thing to watch for if you are going to be moving and the furnace is set to a temp of say 65 degrees and the inside temp is less that that, and you travel with your propane on then the furnace will come on and waste a lot of propane, not to mention battery, if the propane is not on, the Furnace will try to come on, this uses a lot of 12V battery power when you don't want to have the furnace on. Before you move set both programs 1 & 2 to OFF. I learned this from experience.

Problem solved! It seems that while in the furnace mode the overhead A/C fan may be run. By pushing the fan button you can switch from low, med, high and auto. If set on any setting besides auto the fan will run even in the furnace mode. The old comfort control would not do this the fan was a seperate mode of operation. not so on the comfort control 2 it will run in any mode if not set to auto

Thanks
Dave
