carpet protectors for slides
We recently discovered plastic carpet protectors for the slides. Does anyone have an opinion of these pro or con? We would like to know how many of you are actually using them. Thanks in advance for the info.

After we saw streaks on the carpet, we made protectors from two 6 inch wide strips of carpet runner that have the little pins on the back. They go in line with the walls of the slide and no more streaks. Just buy a foot of the runner for each slide and cut it in half.

We have grey plastic strips about 3 1/2' x 6". They work pretty well. There are no wheel marks or dirt marks on the tan carpet. The only thing, I thought that they were a little pricey, but they work.

Like Don, I have the "Slide-Out Slickers" ... they work really well and I would recommend them. Some here have made their own, but $30 didn't seem that unreasonable to me. They keep the carpet from wearing and also keep the black marks from appearing where the end of the slides rub the hardest. I store them on the floor between the wall and the end of the couch when not in use. It's best to let the main slide move in about an inch before you lay them down ... keeps the slide from pushing them across the floor sometimes.

I have the gray one's I use on the big slide.. they look they are helping a lot keeping the marks off the carpet.. the DW saw the marks the bedroom slide leave on the carpet.. Looks like I need to come up with something to solve that problem. I think Keystone should have put wider wheels on the bedroom slide. That should have helped the problem. The wheels look to be about an inch wide..
