High Country 318RE Fold out Sofa

We uncovered a problem in our HC 318RE today. The sofa bed located behind the kitchen is sitting on the slideout, which is on a 3 inch block. The bottom support and mid way supports are both located on the main floor (naturally 3 inches further down). This means that the foot of the bed is slanted three inches down off of level. Sounds like an engineering problem. Has anyone else experienced this and if so how did you resolve the issue. Is there a factory "fix" that can be ordered. Carrying blocks of wood around as support would work, but I would rather get something more permanent> Appreciate your contributions.

Are the blocks just temporary blocks, maybe there but not intended to be permanent? Can't imagine why the sofa would be blocked up that high. If they don't look like they are supposed to be there, I'd pull them out. On our model, the sofa is in the slide, but almost level with the main floor when the slide is extended.

Clark, our 318RE is the same as yours. I have never had to sleep on ours but my brother-in-law has several times with no problem. I would try a temporary block at the foot would work but don't think it is really necessary. If the head was lower it might be a problem but not the foot.

We also have a 318 RE , I have never noticed it being un level. My daughter has slept on it a few times . Only thing we have noticed it seems the air mattress looses some air during the night.

For ctwebb: Our trailer was made in Janurary 2014 with a fold out mattress, not an air mattress. Wonder if they had a design change recently?

We have a 2014 318RE also. The dealer told us that the factory had stopped using the air mattresses with this model, so we have the regular fold out mattress. We have our "maiden voyage" next weekend so we'll see how the fold out sofa feels to my daughter and her husband!

Follow-up on the fold out couch: I contacted our local Camping World here in Hanover and was told to bring the trailer in next week for pictures so that they could get a fix going with Keystone. They also mentioned that a new couch may not be fothcomming until the Fall. Plan to get wome wood blocks and make temmp fixes until then.
