Water pump woes

Pump comes on and charges lines and cuts off...then cuts on and cuts off...about every 5-10 seconds....and then finally just runs and does not cut off on its own....have checks for water leaks and drips...can find none....does the pump have a check valve ?...is the pressure device leaking down ?....can hear water kinda gargling near the command center but no leaks etc....has worked fine for 3 years...is the pump fixable? Or just get a new one and replace... Any help or ideas most appreciated....

did you just refill the tank? you might have an air pocket. yes, the pump does hold pressure when off, there is a check either internal or external.the noise you hear could be the water leaking back thru the check valve. just a thought

Stan,
A couple suggestions.
1. check your fill valve in your convenience center is it fully seated in the closed not fill position.
2. The pump may be loosing pressure back into the holding tank. Same idea as your of check valve but just pump leaking pressure.
Good luck and let us know what you find.

John, THANKS!...after filling the tank I did forget to flip the switch back to closed....working correctly now.....we are in 25 degree weather and wind...the silence is so golden.....No more flipping the switch on and off...lesson learned even though it was a "duh" moment.....thanks again....

Don't feel bad, you're not the only one to ever do that.
