Small World !

While we were on our way to Laughlin for a week of sunshine and gambling we stopped to eat and fuel etc. at Flying J in Barstow. Mary Kay comes back to the rig as I'm parking after fueling and asks me who do I think is in that Montana over there. I look and start guessing and she says no. It was Dennis and Jackie Korchak. They use the FJ as an overnight place all the time. Management allows them to stay in the auto section instead of over with noisy trucks.

So we had a nice long chat and got all caught up on all the goings on. As many of you know they had to return to WA to be take care of the affairs of her recently deceased brother. They were really looking forward to Q this year but will certainly try to make it next year.

Anyway it just shows that it is indeed a very small world.

Jackie and Dennis we certainly enjoyed your visit with us as we had lunch. Thank you.

Dennis and Mary Kay

Ray and Janet,

We are in the Riverside RV park. It is a nice park. We don't have a very spacious site but it is OK. If you're in the area we're in space 373. Folks are welcome anytime.

Only luck so far has been that we haven't lost ALL our money!

The weather is also not been the best. On the cool side and a bit windy. But lots of sunshine so we are enjoying ourselves anyway.

I believe our departure date is next Wednesday the 25. But that could change. The weather is fairly nice. Today about 66 and a rather stiff breeze. The weekend and into next week should be in the low to mid 70s. So we are enjoying that.

Where are you folks?

Dennis, if you look to the east at the mountains we are just on the other side. I think we are about 20 miles from the bridge, as the crow flies. A little farther if the crow is carrying an empty gas can. My wife is in Cali right now taking care of her mother. I was planning on going over to Sams Club on Sunday or Monday. Thought I might swing by if you are at the campsite and say hi. Don't really have a schedule yet and really don't want to mess with your plans.

Ray,

We'll look for you on Sunday or Monday. Are you on the other side of the mountain or on the side looking down at the river?

Later,

Dennis

I wish we had a view of the river and the casinos but we are on the other side of the mountain at about 2700 feet. In the summer time it's about 8 to 10 degrees cooler here than at the river.

Hope to see you.

Dennis and Mary Kay - it was so good to see you at Barstow too! What a surprise. I hope you had a great time at Laughlin. We are sure enjoying the sunshine here at Big River (near Parker, AZ). We heard it snowed again last night up in the Northwest. Yuk. On March 5 we will be heading for Yuma for a week, then Tucson or Benson and then on to New Mexico to explore the whole state. We are looking forward to seeing everyone at the Seven Feathers Rally in June.

Dennis and Jackie,

Glad you're enjoying the sunshine. Especially since it seems to be getting colder, wetter and whiter up where you're from.

We have enjoyed the Laughlin area and decided to stay over for awhile. Actually our plan was/is to head back down to Q and meet up with Ray and Pam and Carl and Susan. They are spending a week or so back in the area while working their way home. But I've developed a dental problem. Hopefully I'll be able to get into a dentist today. Get some relief and some antibiotic. We hope to be in Q Friday. We will stay a few days and then head home.

I know you'll enjoy your trip on east into AZ and NM. Enjoy and see you on down the road.

By the way if your schedule permits why not drop down to Plomosa Rd. and join the "Little Q" gathering!

Dennis and Jackie,

We are packing up to move as I speak! We're headed to Q today. So it is just a matter of hours till we pass thru Parker on our way south. If you can tomorrow would be a good day to drive down and visit.

Hope to see you soon.

Jackie and I will head down to Q tomorrow (Saturday) to meet up with all the Montana group that are still there. I assume you are going to be on Plasoma Rd about 3 miles east. If not, please let me know.

Hi Dennis and Jackie,

Glad to hear you'll be coming down to Q on Saturday. We are actually only 1.2 miles east on Plomosa. Just past the one mile marker you will see a turn to the left. You go down a little gully and just keep heading north. We are about on quarter mile on the right. Click on my link .... Where in the world are we?..... That will show you where we are.

Had a radio friend see me on there and came by this evening and said "Hi."

So see you tomorrow.

Dennis: we are 1.2 miles in from Hwy-95 on Plomosa Road (we are not in the same spot we were in January just to confuse the local BLM ranger). Forest Service Road 810 is on the left. Turn on to it and we are about a 1/4 mile in on the right. There are three of us here tonight and a fourth while arrive tomorrow. You can see us from the highway as most of the folks are long gone. We are looking forward to seeing you tomorrow.
