Again, sorry for the sideways pic. The cleaner looking braided line in the line front the tank to the pump. The other braided line is the tank drain. You can see the water level sensors with wires attached. You can see a larger corrugated line, that's the gravity fill hose. The red/white 12 volt wires are just passing through the area going to who no's what
Can you add antifreeze to water lines in your Montana 5th wheel by using an external water pump connected to the fresh water line rather than using the water pump in the trailer? In other words, our trailer is parked permanently, using city water. We only use the trailer water pump to winterize. This year, we had the same problem others have (pump runs, but does not draw antifreeze - probably due to the check valve issue). In haste, I bought a back up 115V water pump, which then made me think — why not winterize using that pump connected to city water inlet vs dealing with sticky check valves? Please comment..!! Woukd appreciate your thoughts.
Using an external pump to winterize as you suggest, will work exactly the same way as using your onboard water pump. Don’t forget to bypass you hot water tank.
BTW, the original thread is almost 5 years ago. I’m guilty too as I have just posted.
Haha
Does anyone have a picture of the check valve installed in the Freezeguard inlet? Also instructiins on how to remove, why it is there, etc?
Take a look at the first few Posts in this Thread. There are a few pictures that may help along with one members explanation on removing it altogether.

Unscrew the pipe connection on the back of the winterizing port. Using needle nose pliers grab the 3 prong white plastic check valve in the middle of the winterizing port and pull hard. The check valve internals will break apart and you can push the backside out of the rear of the port. Then just screw the connection back on and your good to go.
FYI: winterizing system piping is color coded red. Water system is blue and Black Tank Flush system is white.
Don't rely on plumbing colors. Our rig uses red for hot and the black tank flush, blue for everything else, including the winterizing plumbing. Photos of the back of our convenience center and the port where the black tank flush line attaches to the front of the tank. Also a photo of the check valve/air gap valve inside the wall, note the red PEX line there too. No white PEX anywhere in our rig.
