LOL me too... I had a car I was getting ready to sell. During cleaning I discovered it had a CD player in the stereo. I don't really use music players for that, and it had always been out of sight because of where the stereo was it was right under a ledge on the dash and I didn't know how small the openings are on the CD players or what they even looked like.

Rich,
Really a shame you have to deal with the "little" things. No matter how little, they are important to YOU! Cannot agree more that with the money being spent and for the extra time you had to wait while that rig was sitting idle at Montana's shop that they could have had a QAQC person go over head to toe to make sure that everything was right.
When we were researching for our new rig we watched that video that pops up on Montana's site about the owners visit to the plant and how they look forward to hearing from actual owners on improvements they can make, yeah, right, they listen alright!
It is just a continued sign of the times where promises are made and not kept with these manufacturers figuring that while selling 4,000 plus rigs a year they can live with ticking off a small percentage.
Good luck and many happy and "safe" travels in that new home. looking forward to seeing pictures!
Les

We expected the little things. We have had RV's for over 25 years and the 06 3400 for 6 years. There are less little things on this 2013 than on the 06 3400.
The unit was held up not at the Montana plant but waiting in line to be painted at a off site paint shop.. The Montana folks do listen to the MOC owners and we can see many of our suggestions incorporated in this 2013 and previous years.
The little issues are workmanship issues.Carless workmanship. Not paying attention to detial.less than desired quality control. This is industry wide and not confined to Keystone/Montana.
We indicated we would do a report the good, bad and ugly and that is what we are doing.
This unit is near perfect.Every system works perfectly.Oh with the 6 point leveling system this thing is steady as a rock.
This thread is NOT a rant against Keystone but a fair and honest evaluation of this unit.

Nobody at the NE rally has a camera?? Even a couple of rally pics with an inconspicuous new 3402 with full body paint in the background would suffice. Guess I will have to post on the rally thread to get some help here since Rich appears to have an ulterior motive for not letting the MOC see the new rig. C'mon Rich, start recruiting. Where is George when we need him, gallivanting around the west coast somewhere I guess!!

Yes Bingo we are still on the west coast or you would have your picture by now. However, just about everyone at the rally has a phone and could take a picture.

Rich, we too hope our PDI and shakedown goes as well as yours. It sounds overall that you have a unit you are pleased with, and that is pleasing to hear. Not perfection, but overall it sounds like you rig is living up to the reputation Keystone and the BigSky Montana series enjoys. We should get a delivery date any day now. Thanks for sharing your experiences. We know what to watch for now.
Enjoy your new rig!!

Yes we are very pleased. The 385 mile run down the Ohio and PA tpk's to the N.E rally was perfect. We now have run about 600 miles without incident.

When I did the PDI on my 3402rl I went up on the roof and there was extra caulking dripped and smeared all over the place! I guess it was built on on Monday when the crew all had hangovers and did not give a rats ass OH WELL still love the rig!

The ducted A/C is a huge improvement. The 06 did not have that. There is no part of the A/C hanging below the ceiling in the rear and sitting here at the P.C desk it is a soft humm in the backround. Very quiet.

1000 miles on the road just about all on the Ohio and PA turnpike. Every system is perfect. Fit and finish is 99.9% excellent stupid little poor workmanship issues like the toilet seat falling off. Pantry door not closing as the latch plate was not properly installed.Pulled the panel in the side compartment at the water connections expecting the usual rats nest of wiring...not so..not professional they could have sprung for a few more tie wraps but a big improvement over the 06 3400.The paint which Keystone does not do is perfect not a blemish. Can't say enough about the leveling system.
I am pretty critical and thus far execpt for the stupid could have been avoided workmanshiop issues..we are good.
Note the stuid poor workmanship issues stick in my memory not the 99.9% of the good stuff. When will they learn that quality control pays off.

It's not unique to Montana or even Keystone. Our new SOB, which is suppose to be a little higher end rig has some of the same little things. No major issues, but it's the little things, lack of attention to detail that there is no call for. And I agree with Rich, it's those little things that you will remember.

I hear you Steve but to tell the truth we could not find another in the price range we coud afford that we thought or knew might be better. Michelle and Ann have a beautuful rig that we have toured and IMO higher end than the Big Sky but have the same stupid issues.

They ALL have issues. I would take the very annoying minor issues noted above, than some of the hard to fix issues we've had with our MH. Most notable was that we could not get the front A/C to shut off when the room cooled to the appropriate temperature. To make a long story short, our MH has two A/C units, and all models longer than ours have three units. Our thermostat was wired to the non existent third A/C unit...took two techs most of a day to find that out.
