Roller Shade Fell Off

The window shade across from the bath in the hall way was found on the floor this morning. This is the brown material you pull down. Apparently it was attached to the "roller" at the top with glue. Except only the left one third had glue on it. It was pulled down to keep the sun out. The brand is "Slow-Riser". It should be named "Fast-Fall". Getting ready for a trip and surprise! At least it wasn't a wheel! Anyone repair one of these with glue?

Sounds like there is no substitute for MCD's.

I am surprised glue was used. Seems another method would be better and wondering what that better solution is. Of course, would have helped if glue was used all the way across the material! The glue is more like gel and not very sticky (obviously).

In the old days of roller shades I seem to recall that staples were run across the shade body to affix the material to the roller core. Any reason that could not be done here as well? The heat coming through the window seems to me will soften the plastic glue material for a repeat performance.
