Slide Outs "Clunking"

When we are either extending or retracting the slides we can hear a clucking noise. The unit has been leveled and is plugged in. Any thoughts on what might be causing the noise? The good news is that the slides are moving all the way in and out but "clunking" can't be good.

I would measure to see how well the slide in centered in the opening when open...especially looking at how it sits vertically...ie, measure from top of slideout to wall opening on wach end. And you can look under the slideout at the two adjustment bolts for vertical adjustments. These are right at the square tube fixed to the bottom of the room. Both bolts should be vertical. They won't be if one of the brackets are bent. I have one bent, bolt at extreme angle, and hear some noise on that slide. Need to fix mine. Hope this helps. John

Also, has this always been the case or just start? John

I this unit new to you? my five slides make "noises" as well. I have some "clunking" noises that are from the gaskets folding out or in with the slides. The side gaskets make the most noise. Not sure if that is what you are hearing!

Is it every slide making noises? And noises just when they start/stop? Or during the entire travel? Something new, or from day one?

Mine generally make a somewhat louder noise when they first start to move. Might could be called a "clunk". But after starting to move they tend to move along fairly quietly.

The clunking noise is something new. We've had the rig for a year and haven't heard this until recently. The noise is definitely coming from below the slide so we will need to check to see if anything is bent. Appreciate everyone's comments.

We only hear it with the living room slides (both sides) not with the bedroom slide.

My living room slide is also making some clunking noises...the other 3 are pretty quiet and slide easy....other than the noise the living room slide seems to still go in and out easy and pretty smooth...so I am wondering also...will need to get under the slide and lubricate it with slip plate again and check the gear sprokets....I have never observed a grease fitting anywhere under any of the slides....any other suggestions??
