help with level up
so, I tried to do auto level without unhooking. The front jacks went down but then when just to the ground and when I pushed auto level every thing turned off and I can't get it to turn back on. I found a small blue button on the control? box that all the wires run to and when I push it a red light comes on for a few second but then goes out.
Is there a reset some where that I should push or what do I do.

Which system do you have? The one with the LED screen that reads 'auto leveling completed' or do you just have arrow buttons? I have the manuals pulled up but I need to know which one you have.

I don't see how you can do auto level hooked up to the tow vehicle. On mine the first thing it does is the front end lowers, then raises to at least level or beyond. If it cannot lower because it is hooked up then you likely have an error message and will need to reset. I believe that is done by removing the power to the unit. Or might be done by turning off the level up. You do not want to be parked under the front end when you activate the auto level, at least not on mine.

Mine has a red plug on the computer that can be pulled out to reset the system. I asked for that specifically when level up was installed. I believe the factory ones have the same thing only it's black or some other color. As you found out, I believe auto level is supposed to sense that you're not unhooked and stop.

I have the one that has the screen. I can't turn off the system because it won't turn on. It is just dead. I'll look for a plug but I don't remember seeing one.

I found a little black box that had a lever? coming out of the bottom and when I pushed it back up I heard a click and I now have power to the system so hopefully when I disconnect tomorrow it will work. Thanks for the quick help.

Level up must drop below what will be level as the first step. So leveling via auto level will not occur. Manual leveling can be used to level.

When hooked-up just select manual mode then lower front, rear, left and right while watching the -/+ for small corrections in either direction (use retract button as needed to switch direction of movement) and that is all that is needed. Auto Level should only be used when unhooked with the truck moved out of the way. I recommend unhooking if lowering the landing gear lifts the truck bed any amount.

Is it just me, or was this a bad idea from the get-go??? Granted the poster needed help on finding the reset, but ...

I do believe attempting to "auto level" while hooked up is not a good idea. The nose of my trailer takes a big dive to start the cycle. There is no way it could accomplish that seemingly automatic function with the truck under it. In fact, I always take great care to make sure the truck is far enough away so as not to get clobbered by the trailer as it starts the cycle.

I believe the "lever" you're referring to is a reset for the breaker. FYI, what the others said about auto level when hooked up.

Yeah this was a bad idea from the get go. Don't what I was thinking or maybe not thinking was the problem. Any way all is well now and thanks for the help. What I do now is just put some of those yellow blocks under the wheels and drive up like I did In the old days.
This only happens when I am only staying over night and am to lazy to un hook.

There is a sticker on the inside door of the control panel on ours that says don't do that.

Mine was aftermarket so there was no sticker. That said I should have had enough sense to not do it.
Fortunately nothing was damaged and it works just fine.
