Refridgerator Problem- Nircold 1210

We are on the road and noticed water in the pull out drawer at the base of the fridge. Checked water collection tray in the fridge and it had a small amount of water in it, and drain hole did not appear to be plugged. Went outside and opened panel and discovered water collection cup was completely full and running out into the compartment . There is no drain from the collection cup, and the manual seems to say the heat from the fridge should evaporate the water. Not happening.
I drained the cup, and dried things as best I could. Will keep an eye out, but any ideas as to what caused this problem or what to do. I plan to call Norcold in the morning.

I noticed having this problem with our Norcold 811 about 4 years ago. What I did was run the drain tube through the vent and to the outside like Dometic does with theirs. Problem solved!

Depending upon humidity of the area you are in, the amount of humidity inside, amount of door opening...the fridge can pull a lot of water out of the air. Have only had the problem a few times where items in the fridge get pushed up against the fins and guide water off them and it settles in the bottom of frige or on top of a item in there. If the tray in the back of the fridge is fully pushed into the drain opening on the left side, excess water should go out the tube when fridge does a cycle to knock off excess frost on the fins. Have had a full cup a few times and sponged it out. Ran with the drain tube out the cover for a couple of years...just make sure you check to make sure tube is remaining open. john

Be sure that the sleeve on the drain pan is completely over the tube. I thought ours was but continued to have water in the bottom. My wife checked it and wondered why the sleeve wasn't over the tube. I told her it felt like it went over the tube.

Did the same with ours as someone next to us at the rally two years ago did and routed the hose out through a louver. It sticks out about three inches and we don't have to worry about drainage at all.

If not already inline ... make sure you route the drain hose for it to have natural "S" to form a PTrap as such to keep out bugs and a little stream of hot air up your drain tube. I'm thinking that was the design purpose of the exterior drain cup. There are small plastic screens made to be put on the end of the hose as well.

I had to have my cooling unit replaced a couple of months ago. The fit for the cooling unit attached to the refrigerator box was not water tight and water was leaking from the back on to the base and into our drawer also. you might have to pull the unit and check to see if the cooling unit is fitted to the box correctly. IMO

Followed suggestion of running hose out through panel, and no more water. I will take to the dealer when we get back, but for now that suggestion seems to be working. Incidentally, Norcold has no "tech support". All they will do is find an authorized repair facility near you.
