It, Marv again The steps going into the 3160 legacy are a 4 step
the first step is 10 1/2 inches exiting the 5th wheel, the next is 8 inches,the next is 7 inches and the fourth is 7 inches and finally the ground landing is 10 1/2 .I am going to move the steps up there is adjustment of 3-4 inches and either adding a step to the bottom or a portable. I am open to solutions. Marv

You probably have the hicory steps. Take note of the posts on the recalls. My steps are a different brand and are more equal. Remember...each site that you setup in will be vastly different. I would not add a step. John

Our 2015 Montana High Country 305RL has the same steps. I raised the steps to the next set of holes which was 2 inches. That way we have them all within and inch of each other. It was not as easy as I thought it would be. I had to take a saws all and cut some of the bracket off so the pin sticking out on each side of the step did not interfere with the bracket mounted on the trailer. I then took a side grinder to smooth the cut edges, sprayed some paint on the cut part, and reinstalled it. I used a manual jack under it to help with taking it off and back on. It is much better now and especially for our little furry friend.

I once had a building inspector look at a stair job I was doing. He told me that if there was more than an 1/8" difference in the risers he would make me rip them out!
If that's what you get with the four steps, I'll keep my three steps and my "suicide well'.

Marv what year is your 3160? I will have to check but on our 2016 3160 RL LE it seems that all of our are steps are quite even in riser and of course treads. The only thing that I have noticed is depending on how high or low the auto leveling leaves the unit obviously changes your distance from ground to the first step. I would talk to your dealer or Keystone and order the steps like mine or Johns.

I don't know how that could be acceptable or maybe even legal. I guess my camper steps are not all the same but three out of four are the same.

I have steps from elkharttool.com I went to there site and they advertize theirs 4 step to be 7 inches apart. And two different models. I am going re measure and verify the model I have installed. I also know that hickory I'd another mfg. as I ran over a rock at a thousand trails resort in Santa Inez ,California's access road and had to replace my steps to the cost of 300 dollars plus installation cost.
