Antenna booster?

We just brought a HC 343RL home, and there's at least one thing I missed on the PDI....where is the antenna booster? Or doesn't it have one?

I'm pretty sure they all are located there.

If you have one it amplifies and helps improve the antenna signal. When watching TV and using the antenna on the roof it is pretty much a requirement that you turn it on by pushing the button. A green light will alight. This helps remove a lot of snow on any received over the air received signal. You may not have one since my rig was built when analog was prevalent. Now that over-the-air is now digital I don't know if it's needed.

I use Satellite of some kind (was DirecTV, now it's Dish) when we are set up or we'll watch DVDs. Since over-the-air is so terribly sporadic and I now need a digital TV converter, we haven't used this feature in years! The antenna lies dormant on the roof.

If you are using a cable or satellite connection to your rig, then this must be OFF (no green light) or it will interfere with the incoming signal. Being in the closet and the way things sometimes get thrown in there, I will check that the booster is turned off since sometimes something bumps it and it turns on.

Like Gkerlin, mine is in the front closet on the other side of the wall from the swing out TV. If you have one its position may vary depending on floorplan but it would be somewhere at the front cap near the antenna on the roof.

Unsure what year you are talking about. But mine is located below the TV in the Living area fold down desk (on the back wall) There is a 12V cig lighter socket and a coaxial Tv connector. Left of the TV connector is a black push button which is the on/off for the amplifier.

When you press the button in. A green LED will light up. This applies power to the amplifier in the roof antenna.
If you are at a campground with cable and you hook up to the outside coaxial connector. Make sure this push button switch is off.

I have also see where the on/off switch is actually located near the crank for the antenna.

Analog and Digital over the air broadcast will benefit from the amplifier. Now if you have yours on and you still have older Tube type TV's then you will need a DTV converter box to receive the signal. Even if you have a 100watt amplifier you will not be able to receive digital signals on an older analog TV without the converter.

Converters are available at any Radio Shack or Walmart.

The newer Flat screen LCD/LED backlit and Plasma TV's can decode the Digital signal directly.

I'll have to look closer, but it doesn't appear to be in a prevalent place. The unit is a 2013 and there are two digital TV's in it. My old TT had it right by the coaxial connection. I will keep searching....

We're moving the HD DirecTV satellite system (Winegard Trav'ler) from the old TT to the new Monte, along with the solar system.

Hmmm, if you have digital TVs does one need a booster?

Actually a digital signal needs amplification every bit as much as analog. Weak analog you get snow. Weak digital you get the annoying digital break up.
