cable slide goes thump?

yesterday when deploying our bedroom slide which is operated by the cable system it had a loud "thump" at regular intervals. when we retraced it everything was fine. extend and "thump" again at regular intervals. checked everything I could see and all looks good. I m thinking maybe the gear box but wouldn't it "thump" both directions? any advise would be greatly appreciated since we cant get to the bathroom or bedroom with the slide in, although it currently works I do want to get it fixed.

thank you.

if I don't respond immediately I'm away from this computer till this evening.

Is the bed in the slide? what model trailer is it? did you look at the wheels under the bed and carpet where the little wheels run?

I think you are right, it’s probably your gear box I had the same problem last summer, replaced box works fine now. There rather easy to replace.

We had the same issue with our rear den side and the subfloor had gotten wet and swelled. It had to be replaced glad I had extended warranty.
