Water Heater

So on our last trip our electric water heater decided not to work (had been working fine since 2014), the gas side did the job, but I'm wondering if this is an easy fix or should I stay on propane? Thanks

You could have a tripped breaker, a failed element, a bad thermostat or possibly the over temperature device just needs to be reset, and there is also the outside switch that could have failed. It's going to take a little checking, but running on gas will not hurt anything until you get the electric side fixed.

Probably a fairly easy fix. If you are comfortable using a voltmeter to troubleshoot 120 vac, you can likely find the problem.

Sorry for the delay in responding, had a few friends stop by to also investigate. The element was good, what we found was a bad switch. Thinking we will need to pull the hot water tank and replace....a lot of work for a $.25 switch...oh well, nothing else to do on a Saturday afternoon. thanks again

My switch went bad on my 2955RL. The switch was located inside the water heater compartment. The switch was visible without removing anything.

If it is the little black switch on the bottom left corner of the water heater that looks something like this,

then you should be able to just pop it out without removing the water heater.

no wires involved? Is the switch in place by pressure only?

Definitely 120 VAC wires involved. Look up part number from owners manual, order from Amazon. When switch in hand turn off power to rig. Pop switch put , move wires to new switch and reinstall
Did i say TURN OFF ELECTRIC POWER TO RIG? Please be safe!
