Domestic CCC2 Thermostat went KAPUT

Been using the AC and heat here for the past few days and weekends with no issues. Tonight I went to set the sleeping temp and the readout just has random marks on the LCD screen. I can turn it off and back on with the same results each time. I pulled the unit from the wall and checked the RJ11 connector. I removed it for a minute and reinserted it. Same issue. The blue screen light lights up fine so power is not the issue. I tried the reset procedures, which might have worked, but the screen remains the same. Nothing works, heat or air. Possible thermostat went bad? Thanks!

When you did the reset, it changed nothing? after the reset, but before you turned the CCC2 off, what did it show? Did it show the zones?

Does it show 3-4 dashes across the top of the display? Rest is blank?

I doesn't show any dashes. When I hit the power it will show a partial display for a half a second, and then just random lines across the screen, maybe 4 or 5 total. When I change modes, it will do the same thing. It never shows enough coherently to see what mode it is in. No matter though, as adjusting the temps in whatever mode it is in will not turn on the fan, heat or air. Really all it does right is the blue light. Weird.

My guess is the CCC2 has died. Ebay for $115. Are you out of warranty. I think the Dometic stuff is 2 years? Got a neighbor you can borrow one from? For a test?

That is what I was thinking. I'll ask around to see if anyone has one I can borrow. Sigh.

Well, I decided to bite the bullet and just order a new one. I ordered a CCC2 from an RV supply store online. I thought it was the same, but when it arrived it was missing the button for the Outside Temperature. No worries, I didn't have an outside sensor anyway. I plugged it in and wah-la! I have heat and air again with a fully functioning thermostat control. Thanks for all the help. Until next problem...

We may have to purchase one of those for the "things we know will fail" box. Will look around when at the fall rally. we use the Montana year round and a failure would be a major inconvenience.
