Winterizing

Went to winterize my 2021 Montana 3761fl. It’s different then my last keystone. This one has a connection for the antifreeze hose. I noticed there is a valve of some kind in the connection If you push on it it goes in I’m assuming it’s made so when the pump is turned on the antifreeze goes in it pushes the valve and allows it to flow through the lines. Can this valve be removed? When I winterized the unit it took forever to get any antifreeze to come out the faucets. Could hear pump running but nothing coming out. Had to go outside and pour antifreeze into the hose in order to get any to draw into the lines. Thinking the valve was not opening enough to allow it to flow. Any suggestions

There is 1 or 2 switches you have to turn .1 is marked winterize I think, but at the moment I can't remember what the other one is. Be sure to turn the water heater bypass switch to ON.

I don't winterize but have read lots of Posts here from those that do. A Search will find lots of help.
As I recall, the most common solutions are to:
o - Add a washer to the inlet port connection to improve the seal.
o - Raise the container of anti-freeze above the level of the inlet of the winterize port.
o - Turn the screen filter around in the inlet port (I think this applies to winterizing but I may be wrong).

Previous post is 100% on point. I do my own every year. Follow the above advice. It’s good to go

Yeah, what Carl said. When you turn the screen filter around it presses inward on that backflow valve inside the connector and keeps it open so you can get suction.

I personally haven't heard about the screen trick. Although I don't have any trouble winterizing I may have to give it a try. Who knows that might make it even easier.
