WiFi in RV Setup

Planning next fall to snowbird in Monty next fall and im just trying to figure out what system to purchase for wifey to continue to work at Amazon while traveling and also get stong signal to power Amazon Firesticks in 5er at night. We currently have Senior TMobile plan on cells but dont think that can deliver necessary power. Plus, I cant take 5er anywhere near where she currently rests to have a system installed by RV Pros. Any thoughts?

You could always sign up to be a beta tester for Starlink.

As long as you're on the beaten path, T-Mobile will probably be OK. They don't have a lot of coverage in the sticks.

Are you going to be spending time in one location, several locations, or wherever the wind takes you? If you're going to be in one location, then investigate solutions for that region, which may even include TM. If in several locations, then you may have to pick something that works best for all of them, like AT&T or Verizon, but it could still be Verizon. If it's all over, then you probably need something different than TM.

As far as traveling, and having WIFI while traveling, AT&T or Verizon is going to be your best bet.

Not for sure what this statement meant: "Plus, I cant take 5er anywhere near where she currently rests to have a system installed by RV Pros." Is there something that you think needs to be installed permanently in the 5er to obtain WIFI?

Good luck, and safe travels!

My thoughts on the RV install was having to buy something like Winegard produces like Wifi rooftop unit. I think Tmobile might handle her computer work but i dont think it will power our Amaxon Firestick for TV viewing

Got ya!

I think that you should be a ke to get what you need without I stalling a hard antenna, UNLESS you are in a situation where the tower is far away.

As a consumer there are so many options out there, which is good, but it's also bad because there are so many ways to get from point a to point b, and analyzing pros / cons of all of those is a lot of work.

Have you checked here?

https://www.rvmobileinternet.com/overview/

They have a lot of stuff, but some you have to pay to get access to...

We’ve had an AT&T hotspot for years now, and fortunately have an unlimited data plan. We get great coverage most of the time and besides normal computer needs, can stream through a fire stick without any problems. Doesn’t take any fancy install, have it hanging on a wall with those 3m hooks and plugged in to an outlet below. Pretty easy to set up too.

We had the winegard togo in our last rv, been doing LOTS of homework for a setup in the montana., since they got rid of the unlimited plan we had with the winegard. Best i found, and just signed up for was a Criket wireless hotspot.
The hotspot device is 80 bucks, then 35 a month for 20Gig of data. and if you sign up for autopay they give you a 5 dollar credit every month so its only 30 bucks.

Will let ya all know how it works after it gets here and i get it all set up.

Mobil hot spot will work fine for streaming tv. We use ours when traveling if the camp ground wifi is too slow, which is most of the time.
If you have an unlimited plan you are good to go as long as it's really unlimited. We have the Verizon unlimited which is not really, It's fake unlimited. You get 15 gig's of unlimited and then it throttles down to basically dial up speed so it's no better than the 15 gig plan.

There are however other plans out there that are really unlimited.
