First Timers

Hi there.

We have purchesed our frist 5th wheel and this is our frist year camping, it is a 345DBQ a little big for the first one but what the heck we have 2 young boys (8 and 1)so the seperat room in the back and there own bathroom are great. I pull it with a 2007 chev dermax deisel 2500 HD pulls good. I work in the offshore overseas in Thailand so we have it set up at a campground so the wife and the kids can use it when I am gone for a month, maybe next year we will do some travelling with it. Well thanks and this is a great site and Hi to everyone.. Happy Camping. Scott @ Clara Hollingsworth of Nova Scotai Canada.

Our first RV ever (we had rented one or two MH previously through the years) was a new 2007 3400RL. And we just had myself and my wife. We adjusted very quickly. We love our Montana and we also are VERY thankful to this forum and the literally invaluable help and knowledge here.

Also, members will bend over backwards to step up and help - even if it means getting in their vehicle and coming to other members' assistance. Remarkable! We are personally here through the unselfish help of Rich (richfaa) in particular. Many other members have similar stories with other MOCers helping them, but Rich went out of his way (several times) to get us going in the right direction with our 3400 adventure. There are many like him here.

Have fun and enjoy! We have two boys that are 33 and 35 where we enjoyed every summer weekend camping and RVing when they were growing up. We all loved it and have many great memories. Just imagine how much experience you will have with RVing with that many years behind you when your our age. There isn't a better life!!! Ellis

One of our future destinations is Nove Scotia. We have friends that own an RV park near Halifax. They have been patiently waiting for us to visit them.

Woodhaven RV Park.

You are at the complete opposite corner of the US/Canada countries from us. We live in Southern California about 60 miles north of San Diego. Welcome to the forum, congratulations on picking such a nice rig and maybe we'll see you around.

Like others have mentioned, this membership is a wealth of information. Post often and make the messages as long as you like! Nobody minds that part.

Welcome to The Forum. I'm sure you'll enjoy your rig and the people and information on the MOC forum. We're looking forward to our first Great Lakes MOC rally next month and can't wait to personally meet some of the fine folks from this forum. Hope you, too, can attend one of the rallies that MOC holds. Have fun with your Monty and safe travels!!

Length of cable for replacing the grey and black tank values. Any other tips on how to replace these valves?

Hi Guys and welcome to the MOC. From what you said you did the right thing. Your truck can pull that trailer like its not even there. I have a friend that has your model and he pull's it with a 2005 Chevy Diesel. No problems from Tim on pulling it. Have fun and be safe. Hope to see you in the states.

This thread is from 2009. They have likely bought a couple of rigs and trucks since then.

Welcome from us on the Left Coast of Canada ! Your choice of a Montana model will no doubt prove to be a good one. Please look to this forum for lots of ideas, solutions, and general knowledge. We have benefited immensely from the generous MOC members, past and present ! You may want to introduce your wife to the forum too, for those times when you are off shore and (heaven forbid) something on the rig goes awry. Safe travels.
