50amp plug exposed to Winter

This will be my 2014 Monty`s first winter in on our new lot in Eastern, Wa. Totally exposed to the winter elements. One Monty near me wrapped tinfoil around his plug going into his fiver. That seemed weird. Is there anything I should wrap around my plug~in to protect it from cold temps & some snow?

8 years of full timing and the only thing we added to our power cord was one of these: https://www.campingworld.com/marinco...yABEgJjfvD_BwE
but it's more about keeping the cord from pulling out of the plug due to hot weather. You can find a 50amp one if you search the net. I just used this one and CW to show you one.

The connection, if used properly is a UL Weather Proof connection - the only thought I have is that area will have less insulation and could be a heat escape point. Foil would help a little - might consider getting a S&B hose bib cover, split it in half, cut out for the cord and tape it back together to seal up the area. Food for Thought
