Powered vent fan opinions
I would like your opinions concerning the different brands of powered vent fans available. Things like warranty issues, reliability, customer service issues and the like.
I am going to add another to my bedroom, in the vent that sits directly between the shower and the toilet closet vent fan. I want it for venting the bedroom after a shower, and to pull cool air in at night. We like to close the sliding pocket door at night, so the kitchen Fantastic Fan doesn't help cool the bedroom very much.
Another question, does anyone know how many amps one of these things draws running on high? I'm wondering how much one would draw down 2 6V golf-cart batteries during a night of running non-stop.
I'm planning on tapping into the hot wire for the little toilet fan in the toilet closet a couple of feet away. Any thoughts about that?
Thanks!

I just added another one and based on my experience with their customer service went with Fantastic Fan. Not sure about the amp draw (never tried to shut everything else off to check), but I believe it to be minimal.

Fantasic makes the create-a-breeze unit that can blow in or out. The current draw is 3/2.3/1.9 amps for high/med/low speeds. Low is penty fast enough and your current bath vent fan ties into a larger 12vdc power feed in the ceiling. I removed the puny, tiny bladed fan, did I mention cheap fan unit that keystone put in and installed the fore-mentioned fan. You could as well install any of the other fantasic models. On low speed, you would burn 1.9 amps times the number of hours you run it when boon docking. John

Thanks everyone! I ordered a Fantastic Fan and I got one that's reversible, with a remote and rain sensor. I tapped into the power at the puny little bathroom fan (I don't need to replace it, as it's only venting a very few cubic feet of air), then fished the wiring straight over to the vent out by the shower (about a 30 inch run), and now I'm just waiting for the new fan to arrive. I can't remove the old vent yet, as it's raining.
I wanted the remote so I could control it without getting out of bed if needed.
