Looking to upgrade to Big Sky 378RL

We presently own a 2011 3100RL, utilizing a 2011 Ram Laramie 4WD dually to tow with. We weighted at Escapees-Livingston 1st part of April and was well within limits of truck. We are in the process of selling everything and going full time. (what a chore).
We have been looking at the Big Sky 378RL. Looking for those of you that might have this model. What are you using to tow with? Comments, concerns,recommendations for the 378RL.

I just looked at the floorplan. Everyone has different needs and things they will compromise on in a unit. We wanted a shorter unit (we live in the mountains) that we could get to the bathroom, fridge and bedroom without putting slides out. We can get to everything but the fridge in our new 3160. It appears you can't get to the bedroom without putting a slide out. As full timers, this may not be an issue. Couldn't get to the weight rating, but with a 2011 I would guess you will be close.

We have the new line 382RL, which is just a teeny weeny bit bigger. We pull with a 2014 RAM 3500 4x4 dually. We full-time and with all our stuff in it, it weighed in at just over 16,000 at the National Rally. Certianly needed the dually for the pin weight.

Chuck, you do not need a larger 5th to full time.

We fulltimed in a 35' 5th for 5 years and then in a 35' non slide pusher for another 5 years.

Bought a house,(health issues '09) bought another 35' 5th and now spend 5 months in S Texas and travel the rest of the time, spending about 4 months at the house in the spring and fall.

The bigger the 5th you have the more stuff you do not need you will be hauling around.

Keep what you have, and enjoy the ability you have to get into smaller campsites, knowing you have plenty of truck.

Probably will stay with the 35" 3100RL.
We have already been places that we would not have been able to get into if we had been longer.

We have the 379RL with a similar f;loor plan. We are pulling with an F450, but that is because I do not like being too close to the limit. You should be fine with your truck. By the way, the water tank is in the back so it does not add to the pin weight if you are carrying a bunch of water.

If you have all the bugs worked out and the unit is meeting your present needs unless you got the "got to have a new rig" keep the one you have.
