No smoking inside our Monte, mom has to go outside to smoke her Marlboros....

I'm not kidding, that's the truth!

We take the Masterbuilt electric smoker with us. Fits in the truck bed between the hitch and the cab. Works really well and being electric it's not near as messy as my wood/charcoal smoker I keep at home. Very low impact and worry free smoker. Just set the temp and smoke time and let it go. Add wood chips about every 40 minutes for the first 3 hours or so then let it do its thing. A large garbage bag also works great as a cheap cover for it!

I use an Orion, very quick and easy, smokes a butt in 3-4 hours, you can get them at Bass Pro less than for $150

Must be a really big cigar for the butt to smoke for 3-4 hours. Couldn't resist.

It would take a real man or mom to smoke that cigar. I was picked green as my neighbor always said so I guess that leaves me out.

Saw a couple at the AF Academy campground and they had a green egg and it wasn't the small one. O, they were in a 5th wheel.

I haul my Brinks smoker with me when I head up north. It is a gas one that is bout 3-4 ft high and round. I have a cover for it so that way once I get the trailer hooked up I can lay it on its side and lay it crosswise in front of the tailgate. Then I throw an extra lp bottle in beside the hitch.

We had a guy next to us in a campground that ran his smoker with no regard for his neighbors. It got so bad we had to move. We couldn't open our windows and the temps were in the 90's. What an inconsiderate jerk.

Hmmm.....only four hours? Not to start a war, but that seems like an incredibly short time.

Sounds like he was using too much smoke wood. Four fist-sized pieces is about all you need and that smoke should thin out within an hour.

Oh...convection.

I'm old school; charcoal, wood and smoker. But I can see where that would be a lot easier and cleaner than what I use...a Weber Bullet and a Big Green Egg.

I just read some reviews on the Orion. Intriguing alternate for smoking. Maybe the way to go on the go?

I'll have to give it some thought...

We also use a Masterbuilt electric smoker, and put it in the truck bed between the hitch and the cab. Love it for it's simplicity.

Sometimes instead of taking the Masterbuilt electric smoker we will take the WEBER 22" Gold kettle grill and The Smokinator. http://www.amazon.com/Smokenator-1000-Transform-Kettle-Efficient/dp/B000HI3I68/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1384349373&sr=8-1&keywords=smokenator

We used to carry a gas smoker and used it as our BBQ grill also. After the third one rusted out we finally said enough. We were going through them one a year. We finally switched to a stainless Steel grill this year. We are sure going to miss our Thanksgiving Smoked Turkey this year. The only thing we could figure out was, we fulltime and visit so many different climates that the steel couldn't take it and would prematurely rust.

Finally broke down and ordered the Orion. We'll take it camping in two weeks and check her out!
