Bottom Covering

I was under the unit installing a 12v system (I'll show pictures soon) and was wondering about the covering on the bottom. It is very different that what was under my Cougar tt. It looks like carboard. Anyone know about this stuff? Thanks

I believe the underbelly is ABS plastic at least mine is. I dont think Keystone has changed the underbelly material yet.
A sugestion for you if you want it if you get come fender washers and remove a screw at a tine and replace with the fendre washer it will help from the screws pulling through.

I think its called coroplast, here is a link to their site:

http://www.coroplast.com/

If its sagging, you can get some 1/2 inch metal conduit and flatten the ends and install the conduit across the frame, holding up the coroplast.

Could these be used to replace the screws or is it worth the effort? I haven't had to lower a panel but removing and then replacing all those screws without breaking one or stripping a head or hole looks like a daunting task. I also looked at the self tapping trim body bolts/cap screws, the ones with the integrated washer.

Tom:
I think you are right. That looks like the stuff. I'm glad it's not cardboard LOL.

Don: I totally agree about the fender washers. For the 12 volt system I'm installing I got some ss fender washers from Lowes. They sure have a nice ss selection. I also got the same size self tapping screws in ss that are used to fasten the coroplast to the frame. I'll replace the originals (non ss) when I put on the fender washers.
Thanks guys.
Steve

Interesting. Do you just tap these in place to fasten and pull them out when you wish to lower a panel? If so, that might make getting into the undercarriage a lot easier if these things hold up well.

I nearly choked the first time I actually looked at the material covering the bottom of our Montana...I, too, thought it looked an awful lot like cardboard, but was assured by other MOCers that it is not cardboard.

Brokenelbow those usually have a non threded hole probably 1/4 " you then push the holders in and then take a rahide mallet and drive in the spreader , I think if you look at your shower incloser they use some of the same type but a differant color.
