Was checking all the way home yesterday:
Diesel—low:$2.15 and high: $2.25
Unleaded—low:$2.13 and high: $2.25
For whatever it is worth, at least diesel appears to be cheaper than premium now…

Diesel is still not cheaper than regular here in southern Oregon. Regular is $2.57 and diesel is $2.67.

Diesel is now cheaper here in Gatlinburg, TN, than premium gasoline but it's still more expensive than regular gasoline. I saw diesel for 2.199 yesterday but had already filled up at 2.219. Some stations are as high as 2.359 here.

Diesel in Brevard County Florida ranging between $2.29 and $2.69.
Unleaded regular gas is between $2.21 and $2.59.
BOTH OF WHICH IS JUST CRAZY!

Diesel is expensive but according to my math, diesel will have to be $3.00 per gal to cost as much as a gasser on a 'per mile' basis. That is assuming you get 10 MPG with the gasser towing and 13 with the diesel and assuming gas doesn't go up. This is based on current prices here in NW Indiana. I'll stick with the diesel.

Bob Pasternak,
I just got the same truck you have and got rid of the gasser in the process. I will not be going back to a gasser from here on out. I have to tell you, I love that Cummins engine. Have you added any goodies to your truck?

Jeff Heiser; The truck isn't here yet. S'posed to be next week. We special ordered it to get what we wanted, but I don't plan on adding power boosters to it. I had a "Power Edge" module and a 4" exhaust on the '01 that made it 310hp and 625 lb ft of torque. It only had 50,000 miles on it but one of the newer 600s parked next to us in Charleston, SC. My traveling companion heard it run (or maybe DIDN'T hear it) and she has been nagging me for a new one ever since. If the new one runs like the '01 it won't need anything. All we're adding to the new one is some graphics, running boards and a couple other things. We're going to Great falls, MT then to Mt. Shasta so we'll see how it goes.

Well I hope the bubble has burst, but I don't believe that it has. The demand for fuel be it gas or diesel has not dropped much and the oil companies know how far they can push the price than back off a bit then back up but a little higher than last time. Does this sound familiar? nothing but greed. But I hope your right and the price will back to where should be.

Living in Alaska, not 5 miles from the oil pipeline and the refining plant taught us that the oil companies will continue to raise the price. We used to complain that the gas was made down the road and the cost was still the same as everywhere else, higher than some...the "suits" said that they will charge what the market will bear. Greedy? You bet!

Cheapest diesel I can find in Bakersfield now is $2.69 per gallon. Wow! Don't know how much longer I'll be able to travel.

Filled up with diesel at Love's on I-95 in VA this morning for $2.05/gal. Paid $2.07 at Flying J in SC. We were happy to find these prices after paying $2.30+/gal in FL.

Topped off the diesel this morning $2.349 drove 7 miles seen them changing the price sign to $2.219 here in Wisconsin. Does this mean that things are going the other way?? Was even 2 cents less than reg unleaded.

Countryfolks,
Hi Skip and Mary. Thanks for info. Merced Ave. is about 20 miles from where I live. But I may drive out there just for the significantly cheaper fuel. Thanks for the heads up.
I see you folks have been busy posting a bit more.... that is nice to see. Hope all is well with you folks. As you know my mom just passed away but other than that we are doing well. We've had several nice trips and have another one planned for the end of May. Hope you can make it out to Reno for the MOC National but that is a long way to travel. Keep on enjoying and we'll see you on down the road.

Dennis and Mary Kay, you can keep on traveling but you have to head east as fast as you can to get to (relatively) cheaper fuel. I'm crying about paying 2.259 and can't imagine paying 2.699. wow! We've already started staying longer (up to a month) in one place more often just to cut down on overall cost (monthly cg rates are cheaper). I found a station at 2.199 last time I filled up but it's probably higher by now. That was a few days ago.

Well today 4/19 unleaded regular dropped at some stations to $2.19 but is still running between $2.25 and $2.32 at many of the rest of the stations. Diesel still between $2.29 and $2.69 depending on what station you go to.

Reading your post, it is very clear to me that South Carolina has some of the cheapest fuel prices around. We camped there since Thursday and I was able to purchase diesel for $2.09 a gallon but saw it later for $2.08. Regular unleaded gas was running $1.96 to $2.01.
