wheels for recliners

Quite some time ago I read a post about putting wheels on your recliners to make them easer to move around. If anyone remembers this I would like more information on what they did. Our recliners are so heavy to move that I thought this would be a good idea. I have been a member for some time however this is my first post. I really enjoy checking in to the posts and have learned severl usful things. Keep those posts coming.

Welcome to the Forum!

The casters were posted by Ozz. You can PM him to get info, or you can look through his link here http://s112.photobucket.com/albums/n...3/Ozzsmods101/

I remember him putting them on, but don't think I ever heard how he liked them.

Sue likes them....lots. She is the one that moves them. Her back is benefiting from the casters. Our cats have the box behind the chair, she moves twice a day. We left one chair at home, have a small freezer full of goodies where the other chair was.
Downside is that it raises the chair up a little, we can live with that.

We have what was a chair from the Big Sky, that belonged to John and Marge. What he did was cut a large circle of plywood, which he attached in a number of places to that round circle of metal with screws. So, now you have a solid bottom. Now, go get some of those slippery discs. place a number of them on the plywood.

Let me tell you, this baby slides RIGHT good. I can move it around in the rig with almost no effort.

Downside, I have to be sure it will not move while we are on the road, it will squiggle around.

Upside outweighs the downside hands down!

Carol, so glad that you still enjoy your chair, and that the upside outweighs the downside. It really protects the carpet. Marge
