Electric landing gear

On my 2010 3400RL, My electric landing gear is slower than cold molasses. Is it possible to use my drill and socket to operate them manually, or will this damage the motor.
Also the slides are hydraulic. Can the landing gear be replaced with hydraulic and added into the existing pump?

If your landing gear is the electric type (Venture Manufacturing) the manual mode is a crank handle usually stored on the wall of the pass thru compartment. It has a unique fitting which engages the motor (through a hole in the propane locker?) to run the gear up or down. It is a really SSSSLLLLOOOOWWWW process. I guess you could adapt the fitting to fit a drill motor and try to run them that way. It won't hurt the motor

Electric landing gear is slow. Venture has a dual motor option (one for each leg) which may help.

Yes, your year can be upgraded to Hydraulic jacks. The Level-Up system adds 6 jacks and also levels the RV once unhooked. Hydraulic jacks are noticeably faster. There are a number of RV shops that will perform the upgrade. The bad news is that is is not cheap. Expect to pay $4k+. They will add another hydraulic tank for the jacks and not use your existing slide tank.

You might see there is an electric 4 point leveling system available. Same slow front jacks and leveling limitations. Go hydraulic if you do it.

We were at Lake Siskiyou this past week, and a couple came in with their SOB with the new Lippert 6 point leveling system, and it set up an error code while setting up. What a hassle it was to get it cleared and finally level. The electric system might be easier and cheaper to install, without all the hydraulic lines and pump, but it didn't impress me. It just made me happy that we have the hydraulic system.

Have the Lippert Ground Control 3.0 on our HC. Very Extremely disappointed. I am successful about 20% of the time when I hit Auto-Level. The upside I am getting well versed in clearing errors.
