JT Strong Arm Stabilizer....
After riding the wave these last two times out camping, the Skipper says I gotta do something about steadying the boat. I'm already using the x-chocks, and additional 4 jacks in front of and behind wheels....what do you use and is it worth the cost? Thanks.......Treading water, D

JTs here. Definitely worth the money (IMHO).

We have them and also our friends. They are great, they take out about 85% to 90% of the movement' They passed the DW test.

I have JT's and also put scissor jacks in front of the tires to take more of the spring bounce out. On a concrete pad it is about 99%. On dirt you have to reset them.

We had a set of the JT's along with the elephant feet pads. Very stable on pavement, about 75% to 80% more stable on gravel. Only time we didn't see a big difference was on grass. The ground is just too spongy and nothing will get rid of that.

Like 8.1al we have the Steadyfast. We have seen improvement since adding them but not sure I would go to the expense and labor for the minimal improvement we experienced. I'm not sure how much they will help since you already have additional jacks in front and behind the wheels. Jim

I bought the "want to be JTs" from CW and have them on our Monte. We have seen quite a bit of difference. I also use the X chocks and both have eliminated about 80% of the rock and roll! I think you'll like the results when you put the JTs, Steadfast or which ever unit you get. When you get them and install them, let us know how they work for you!

Thanks Gang! Made it to shore this afternoon safely! Will probably order the JT's or next time out won't be thrown a life jacket! D

I installed the "SteadyFast" system while in Quartzsite this year. The install was easy with simple hand tools and a cordless drill. Install time was about 3 hours. We are extremely happy with the results and the reduction in movement.

We've had JTs for about 3 years. They are not perfect, but they help a lot. I also have a pair of scissor jacks in front of the trailer wheels that also help. When our little dogs prance around the trailer I can feel it in bed. Was it worth it and would I do it again - Yes.

We've been using our Plug It Right stabilizers for almost 6 years. Being fulltimers eliminating movement when someone was walking around and no movement when the washer was on spin cycle is important to us. Diana

What are JTs? Can anyone give me a link?
The motion of the 5er we owned back in the late 90's drove my DW nuts! I know she is going to want to eventually invest in something to take care of it in our new trailer.

Here are links to a couple of different stabilization systems that several of us are using. They do not remove the movement completely, but do significantly reduce it.

When the time comes I'm definitely going to install it myself. Although I'm mainly a software/mathematician (in a specialized and esoteric branch) I can turn a wrench. I once pulled, tore down and rebuilt the engine of a Miata once, so I think I can install something like this.
Of course, when I was finished rebuilding the engine I did have some parts left over, but it ran great!

We bought the JT's at the end of last summer. Tweety's had the best prices. Took a few hours to put on. The hardest part is drilling the holes in frame. We used them 1 x and then took them off because we bought a 09 Montana. Now we have to repeat it all over again but feel they did make a improvement. They do need adjusted as days go on.
