TV converter boxes

I got the TV converter box for the camper with the plan to put it inline with the roof antenna. In my Mountaineer the roof antenna connection is in the bedroom TV cabinet wall. I tried the box today to the bedroom TV and it works. I figure I have to pull this amplifer swith box out of the wall and run the antenna wire to the TV converter and then run the output of the converter back to the switch so it can be used with the bedroom and living room TV's. This should also let me switch between the roof antenna/converter box and satalite as I do now. Has anyone done this or am I thinking wrong?
