First April can't get here quick enough.

and now my question:

I know rear kitchens in fivers or TT aren't a new thing, we've always had mid kitchens in our TT's. With this being for our first fiver and a rear kitchen, with folks that have one or had one, how are they towing and what do I need to do when loading up for trips? Since the kitchen is in the rear, that means a possible "light" pin weight, (advertised with #2515 dry). Is there anything I should do when loading or are these newer ones equally distributed with the weight, that a loaded kitchen for a week's trip shouldn't be a big deal.

I have a '16 3500 DRW CC Duramax and just ordered a 20k B&W Companion hitch for it

Congrats, have not heard of any weight and balance issues with rear kitchen models.

We had an older SOB rear kitchen, and other than having all the pots and pans and other cooking supplies all over the trailer, due to rough roads, it is just a different floor plan that some like. We just had to be creative to secure doors and drawers to keep everything contained. It might have been a different story if the suspension was better like what is on the Montanas.

We had a Montana 3585SA which is a RK for 6 years and full timed in it. We NEVER had any of the problems stated above and really enjoyed it.

Welcome to the MOC family from Washington St. Never had a problem towing with are Rear kitchen in are SOB.

Towing won't be a problem, however, as noted, broken dishes might be. The back of these things get the roughest ride, so pack your dishes well.

we use "plastic" ones now in our TT, so if they break, they break.

if we go local, we may take regular dishes but mainly plastic ones

We have never had a rear kitchen RV but some in our local camping group did. Things falling out of the rear cabinets were a issue and proper lashing was required. That was a few years ago and apparently by the reply post that is no longer a problem at least with the Montana.

I have a 2009 3000RK, never had anything come out of my cabinets. I do open the refrigerator slowly.

This is our 2nd rear kitchen unit, the last being a 31rks Cougar. Never had an issue with broken dishes or cabinets opening, etc. If memory serves me correctly, these new 3700/3701LK units have a 1" higher or longer travel suspension than previous years, thus creating about 30% less bounce in the back, according to the Keystone rep I spoke to at the RV show this past January.

I got the hitch installed B&W Comp. 20k, and now we wait. Was told the rig is scheduled to be off the line on 4/11, then up to 2 weeks after that before it hit the dealer for delivery.

Congrats! Hope you are enjoying your 3700LK. We just did a maiden voyage in ours, and had no issues. I tow with an Andersen hitch (previously used a Pullrite slider on our older 5er). I did notice that the cabinet above the In-Command module is not supported on the right side - the bottom of the cabinet bowed when a few water bottles were stored there (before towing). Will include that in a warranty list, or will fix it myself.
