3100 Floorplan

In northern Colorado none of our dealers have many units right now. We had seen a 3100, but they couldn't get the power to work. Can you get to the refrigerator without putting the slides out? And if so, do you have to be super slim or climb over the counter to get to it? Thanks in advance.

You have to be super slim , very agile or move the curbside slide to get to the refrigerator DW will normally go over the counter. This has never been a issue for us, we like the floor plan.

Same here. DW slides over the counter. I wanted to be able to access the fridge but honestly, we really haven't had too many occasions to need to get to it while traveling. We are finally starting to like the 3100 a whole bunch.

On the newer units can you program which slide comes out first?

On our 2013 the bedroom slide opens first, then the dining room side then the kitchen slide. I turn off the hydraulic valves for the first two if I just want the kitchen slide to go out.

Yes, you can control all the slides from the small access door above the propane door on the road side of the rig. This is where the level up controls are as well.

We turn off the BR and kitchen (ods) slides and open the door side and can easily access and load the kitchen. Works well.

Ron the new replacement for the 3150 is the 3155. Not sure what the floor plan is like for sure but you might take a looky see

We just got our 3100 and really love it. I typically slide over the counter and swing my legs through the small gap. If we need to move a lot of groceries in, I'll turn the DS slide off and just extend the ODS slide to make it easy to load. As was mentioned, there are 2 control knobs on the 2014 below the level up control panel. Just turn off the slide you want to stay put. If you don't turn the knobs, the slide with the least resistance comes out first. Sometimes one goes slow, while the other goes out first, then the 2nd slide catches up.

Paul, the 3155 looks to be somewhat of a different Floorplan. We are hoping to get to a dealer tomorrow. Taking our Big Sky in for some pre-Alaska work, so we'll be at the local Montana dealer. Mark, the 3100 is also on our watch list. No new Montana until after our Alaska trip.

Yes the 3155 is a different floor plan--they had to make changes for a double refer. I think the length, etc are pretty much the same as the 3150.
By the way they are building a new plant to make the Big Sky's in. they told us they would only be making 2 or 3 aday, at least for a while

We too have the 3100RL and I usually do a light hop onto the counter, rotate my legs the direction I want to go and hop down. Now keep in mind I am only 5'4" tall so some taller folks may not even need to hop. DH (Bobcat92) is 6' tall and is not really comfortable hopping as he is afraid he would collapse the counter!

We too have NOT found it to be much of an issue and we love the fact that this unit is shorter than many Montana units and we are able to get into some campgrounds that some other larger units may not be able to go to. Plus it was easier on the wallet!

The main part we liked about our 3100RL was that the bathroom is fully enclosed with toilet, shower, sink, linen closet (if you can call it a closet) all in one space. No one had to walk through the shower area to get to the bathroom and no sink in the bedroom.

Good luck on finding a rig that meets your specific needs and let us know what you end up with!
