I connected a hose to the "sewer flusher" hose connector (with dump valve closed) and water sprayed on the sliding door behind the shower and ran through the wall to the basement and down the steps. I traced the water line and it goes up - somewhere. Any ideas on this?

wjwheeler, welcome to the busted vacuum breaker (anti siphon thing) club! I'll let somebody else answer where it should be on your model. I just had mine replaced today. Had some other stuff done figured I'd let the guy replace that busted plastic piece of junk with a metal one. Cost me > $100 for the part but at least I know it won't break after a few months.

wjwheeler, Same thing happened in my 3400RL and it's located in the same place behind the shower wall where the pocket door slides into. I was able to take the shower faucet loose from the shower wall and fish the water lines to the black tank flush through the opening. I had to reach in the opening to the right and took a bit to get it through the opening but was successful. Ordered the vacuum break/check valve HERE. If this happens again I'll just connect the two pieces of Pex tubing together and not worry about it anymore. Tim

Paul and Carol,
One other important thing to do is when you are putting chemicals in your toilet make sure you add about 3 gals of water, before you use the toilet. We usually flush and back flush about 3 times.

Before we head for home, we do it like Bingo and try not to get distracted. If someone starts talking to me, I stop the process.

I dump the black twice a week. If we are traveling I only back flush about every other time or every third time, but I also put tons of extra water in the tank and bump prior to hitting the road again. If we have been sitting stationary for two weeks or longer than I start back flushing every time I dump the tank. I switch it back and forth when flushing, sometimes I use the internal sprayer and sometimes I hook a hose to the external clear elbow/gate valve on the end of the sewer boom. Once every month or so I will even dump several buckets of soapy water down the toilet and back flush all that out. I may be going overboard but my goal in life is never to have a black tank issue (knock on wood!)
