Smile Question about F350 light switch selctions

silly issue but can someone with a F350 2015 or so pass along their phone number and we can go over the different selections.

I want to do day running lights and other things and the ford is different than my old '06 chevy.

thanks

I have a 2014 with auto headlamps and daytime running lights. Both of these are optional; you may or may not have them.

Moving from the top to the 3 o'clock position:

1: Off
2: Parking lamps
3: Head lamps
4: Auto

If you leave it in auto all the time, the lights will come on at dusk; sensor on top of your dash.

There is no control for daytime running lamps. If you have them, they will come on when the vehicle is put in gear and it is not dark enough for the auto lamps to come on. Don't fall into the trap of driving at night thinking your headlights are on when it only the reduced intensity DRL and no tail lights. Cops love that! Best to leave the switch on AUTO all the time.

If your truck did not come with DRL, your dealer can enable them with a click of the mouse after they connect a laptop to your truck. Mine did not come with them, but part of the purchase agreement was that they enable them. They also did two other cars for me; no charge.

The button to the right of the headlight switch controls your dash light brightness and the amount of time your courtesy lights stay on after you shut the truck down.

Did you get a manual with the truck?

That’s the way all Ford trucks work.

Yep, had to have the dealership turn on the DRL. Sometimes when on secondary roads (especially here in the west) I will turn on the full head lights and the running lights. Out here in the desert where the road can be straight for miles the more you let people know you are heading towards them the better.

I forgot to mention, if you have fog lights you probably (I don't have them) pull the knob to turn them on. They only work when low beams are on.
