Wayne, I set mine at 7.5 or so unless I'm coming off a mountain like I did the other day(see Duramax post)! Have had no problems with ours and I have a 2500 Chevy with a 2980 Monte that weighs in at about the same as yours. Have had to make a couple quick stops or slow downs and nt problems at all!
