Replacing the idiotic lamp over kitchen table
I am considering replacing the lamp over the kitchen table as it looks way out of place in the new rigs. Every light in the rig is LED except for the ceiling fan and this one. It's such a pain to turn on and off and my wife can barely reach it. I'm wondering how hard it would be to replace it with the new style I have pictured below. The new ones have the light switch on the side of the slide, but instead of fishing the power wires all that distance, I'm thinking of just cutting a hole in the wood and placing the switch there. My wife can reach the area, she just couldn't reach the other switch having to reach over the shade. Has anyone else thought about how to do this?

The theater seating is in the same slide as my table/chairs. Over each is a fixture with just 2 leds total 4. They provide much more than enough light.

I added a switch on wall, got some tracking that you run wires for computer wires painted it tan to blend in on the ceiling, mounted switch on side wall, didn’t have to put holes in wall works fine

I just replaced the push button switch with a pull chain switch to ease turning it off and on. My wife thinks it's a pretty ugly fixture, so it may get changed out anyway. The pull chain switch would be much easier than running new wires through the wall.

If that new light fixture is what you want, it would be easy to add a switch of some type to the board and wire it in series with the power lead. Assuming you now have the 12vdc domed fixture that keystone loves to install in their units and not one that is 120vac sourced.

Several folks, with old rigs with that type of issue, have just rotated the fixture 180 degrees and put the switch on the light in the front.

Our switch is in the front. But it's directly against the ceiling, either straight up through the light or reaching above the shade, none of which my wife can do. I've made contact to see if it can be ordered so we'll see what they say.
