Washer/Dryer Combo OK

we want to install a washer dryer in our unit and was wondering what experience has shown to be a better choice. Space wise a combo would work the best as we currently have a a couple of shelving boxes and a hanging rod where the dryer would be. I understand a combo unit can not handle as many pounds of laundry but the newer units are advertising they have improved. I welcome all comments.

We have the 3582RL and have a closet right inside entry door where the washer/dryer would get installed. tom

Although the stackablr models seemed to be preferred (including by us), there are many who are happy with the combo unit. Based on previous reports, if you do elect to go the combo route, it is strongly suggested to go with the vented model. The other thing I will mention is that even with our stackable units, we had room in the closet for a shelf above them in our 3400 that provided a good bit of storage. The combined units when stacked are less than 70" tall if you want to do some measurements and see if that will provide sufficient storage room to meet your needs.

We have one of the newer Splendide combo units and love it. True, it still washes smaller loads than a stackable or side-by-side unit will, but I just do laundry a bit more frequently, which solves that problem. I think my Splendide treats my clothes better than my Maytags in our house did, too. In fact, if and when we move back into a house, I'll take my Splendide with me if the house doesn't have a W/D in it!

We have a 6 yr old Splendide combo and it has served us well. Loads are somewhat small, but we often set it to wash and dry and go off to do whatever we want to do. Come back later to a clean dry load and maybe do it again.

Love the Splendide combo! We had the stackable in a previous unit, but we actually like the combo better. It works out very well for us.

We have te Splendide combo and love it. As was said, so you can't put as much in it. Who cares? I'm not standing there and watching it.

Splendide Combo vented for us. Small loads but runs end to end from wash to dry and does not need babysitting through the process. Excellent product.....

We had the stackable w/d for 6 yrs and loved it. Now they are in our garage as our lot in FL has its own W/D. Hate to sell them because you never know. Which ever way you go it's still better than most laundromats that I've been in...

Our splendide combo is great - no problem getting used to smaller loads.

Ditto...lose too much storage space with a stackable.

The space is nice, but I still like the stackable over the combo. Just my personal opion that my wife does not share.

Ours is fine with 4 jeans or sweat shirts and sometimes some socks or underwear thrown in.

I'll jump on the bandwagon in favor of the Splendide Combo vented. We have had ours going on 6 years and it is a workhorse. And I'll also say that the company has true customer service and is willing to help fix problems when they do arise, which is rare! Like others, I just do laundry a bit more often, but it's no big deal.

I don't know how many pairs of jeans make up 15 pounds, but I'll wash 3 or 4 pairs at a time and have had no problems.
