Convection oven

I need advice on how to use my convection oven. Today I pre-heated it to the correct temp to bake cinnamon rolls. I placed the dish on the round rack and baked the suggested time. The tops browned nicely, but the bottoms looked like raw dough. What did indo wrong?

Did you try the wire rack to keep it off the turntable? That will let the heat get to the bottom of the pan or dish.

Wire rack or one of the air bake sheets.

I did use the wire rack. There are 2... One is the round one that sets up off the glass plate and turns like the glass plate. That is the one I used. Then there is a stationary shelf rack above that. Does it make a difference which rack I use?

DW takes the glass microwave plate when using the convection feature. We still have the original solid elevated rack from the 3400 that we use, but I would think the stationary rack would be the preferable approach that takes the turntable out of the equation. May not be the best way to do it, but it works for us.

Get an oven thermometer and put it inside while preheating, many of these convection/microwave run low. I know ours runs approx 25 degree low, you can adjust with the options feature, but when we move that setting is lost, so it's just easier to set it 25 degrees above what's called for.
We use the wire rack on the turn table as much as possible as we feel it provides more even heating since the hot air is coming from one side (at least on our Whirlpool). Also make sure the outside vent is open (if your's vents outside) to provide proper air flow.

Try putting the rolls in a round metal cake pan placed on top of the round wire rack which is resting on the glass turntable. We do biscuits like this and they come out great...brown top and bottom.

Just like a home unit, google convection oven and bake times. It will be helpful. I made the best 5 rib Prime Rib in our unit, I ever tasted. Practice!

We just used ours for the first time for some of the Christmas dinner stuff. The directions say to leave the turntable in and rotating, and use the round rack if possible (I suppose rotating everything gets the heat all around better). Since convection cooking is similar to using a hair dryer this made sense, but we had the same experience with things not getting quite done in the middle. Just added more time and the pans (no rotating but with stand) of stuffing, corn pudding, and baked mac & cheese came out fine.
