window caulking

I was wondering why the slide out windows are not caulked . On our living room slide I noticed the widows that are only out in the weather when the slides are out...living room/dinning room and our bedroom are not caulked . I see a couple problems where the rubber trim is not 100 % flush with the walls .I think it will allow water to get into the walls there . Has anyone else seen this or are yours caulked ?

I have a 2011 3455sa and all the windows were installed with putty tape. I don't think any rv windows are installed using caulk. Just as a precaution I cleaned up all the squeezed out putty from around each window and ran a neatly done bead of black silicon around each window.
