Tires
New Montana 3402 weighs aprox 15,800 loaded at max capacity. Can you run a tire like Xribs or Goodrich T/A commercial on this trailers factory rims or is the weight too heavy for these tires?

mobilecastle,
If this unit is equipped with 7000 lb axles and 8 lug wheels, I'd definately do the "G" load range tires. I don't know if the 2 you mention above are load range "G" or, not but, if the rims are rated for it, that is what I would mount on the unit.

I believe the link you sent me is for E rated tires. This is my question can these E rated tires handle a load of 15,800lbs? The new Montana I think comes with 7,000lb axles and ST235/80R16E tires or LT235/85R16G tires as an option. The tires in the link IMO are superior to the Goodyear's and of course ST's. I appreciate the answers.

Don't mind E rated tires. Not all E rated tires have the same rating. Look at the ratings on the sidewall, either the lbs @ psi number or else there's a 3 digit rating, but then you need to find the table on the internet to ensure that tire is rated at the correct weight per the 3 digit rating.
It's a matter of finding the correct replacement that meets the weight ratings. Do keep in mind that it's the axle ratings you need to worry about since the remainder of the weight is carried on the pin or the landing gear, and not the axles (wheels & tires).
At least you are looking at the GVWR, not the shipping weight (which is completely useless for determining weight ratings).

You have 7K axles which means you should have at least a tire with the capability to support 3500 lbs. Good luck on finding an "E" rated LT tire capable of that load. I have never seen an "E" rated LT tire with a capacity greater than ~ 3100 lbs. I assume they have a reserve capacity (margin of error) but I wouldn't be confident it is enough.
Montana ships the crappy Chinese made ST tires which are rated greater then 3500 lbs (but don't seem to last very long). The alternative is the "G" rated Goodyear G614 (made in the USA) which is a LT tire with the capacity needed. Unless you are running significantly under capacity (and you only know that if you weigh the rig) I would go with the "G" rated G614's.
