Carlisle tires
Has anyone had any experience with Carlisle Tires - Load Range G? I am working with a Goodyear dealer in Branson, MO. I can't afford the Goodyear 614's, and he suggested Carlisle as another choice. I have never heard of them.
I have had 2 tire dealers, both Goodyear, in two different states tell me that 90% of the ST tires are made in China, including Goodyear Marathons.
What has been your experience?

Google Carlisle ST Tires and you will find a number of problems, one thread claims Carlisle tires to be the #1 in the complaint department with the feds. You don't mention what model and year you have, but there are some other good choices besides G614's depending on what you need.

I had two blow outs with the Carlisle. Would not recommend them. Suggest you look at Saliun S637 tires.

The Sept 2016 edition of Trailer Life has a large article on ST tires. I have not studied it yet, but I am sure it will ignite the "ST Tire Wars" again. Just a recommendation!

Depending on the weight of your Montana, put LT truck tires on it. That's what I did...worked fine.

Great advice. We have been running LTs for years with no blowout or other issues.

In my experience, Carlisle tires are junk, to be avoided at all costs.

Try sailuns. I doubt you will find any negatives on the web about them and they are an alternative to the goodyear 614's.

Thanks for all the feedback here. I have a 2011 3750 FL, 15,700 GVW. Had a blowout with the current Marathons, did some damage, getting it repaired now so have some time toshop. The dealer I am working with does not have Sailuns available. I do not have much clearance in the wheel well area, don't know if LT's will fit. I will keep looking.

I use a tire shop, only tires and they have been in business for over 30 years. I just had a recommended tire by many folks explode on the highway. tire was 3 years old and less than 3000 miles. this tire was garage kept on my boat trailer. the tire was a Greenball Tire. It was properly inflated and nowhere close to over weight. So i explained all this to my tire shop guys and they basically said there isn't a good ST tire made that isn't rated "commercial". They said half of the tires they do are ST tires, every brand imaginable. By the way, I got the Greenball tires online, why, I don't know. So if you go with the popular belief i guess the 614's are better than the other bombs.

Am sure you can find an LT tire to fit. How else have so many of us run them over the years on just about every floor plan ( 4different ones just for us)?

Same size as the OEM STs except the middle number is 85. ST235/80R16 versus LT235/85R16 The STs have a higher 'listed' cargo capacity...which is Barbra Streisand.
