Having a civil discussion about wasp protection

We have had some threads about wasp protection for our RV furnace and water heater intakes and exhaust systems, I hope this solution is not too expensive and unreasonable for folks, and you don't think 'I am made of money' for suggesting it. I think it may become standard equipment for the high-end RV's, it seems the answer for those folks who have everything, and price is no issue.
It also seems new on the market, as I haven't seen any out there until now.
I will upload the picture as soon as I can get it to work..

You hired a guy to protect the vents? Not a bad idea! Who cares about cost!

Let's see if I understand the principle. You put a plate over the exhaust that has a smell on it that wasps like. When they land, you shoot them with a .22 leaving the holes in the plate. Sounds like fun!

I hope that if a Montana owner adopts this approach, they at least shell out a little extra and go all out for the Chinette plates, gotta keep our image intact. Now granted, there may be other options that may be in order for peeling graphics, Marathon tires, and various other issues!!

Chinese plates with a peeling design is an idea with promise.

You know you can do it a whole lot quicker if you use a shot gun.

Chinette..."it's for people who care to give the very best!" BTW, did you use self tapping screws to attach or super glue?

OMG! That was just too funny! I love this forum and the humor that goes with it. We were told to put bay leaves and a 1/2 of a dog collar in both areas. Just got our Monty in December so can't swear that it will work. Lazy Days RV guy named the General told us it works. I'll let you know.

Okay, so is that really a paper plate with something sprayed on it?

I ask because I was outside just now and saw a freakin' wasp go in the furnace. We have the exhaust (?) vent covered with a screen that has very small holes, but I guess we need to protect the rest of the exterior cover.

Never had this issue before, but we're back in Texas. Ugh.

If there's a nest already in there, how do you kill it and remove it? Wouldn't think spraying wasp spray up in there would be a good idea because of combustibility? Can I just turn on the furnace and burn 'em out?

Shotgun is not an option! See? I did read the thread. Glad I wasn't drinking anything . . .

The other question is - go ahead and laugh or bring on the comments such as are in this thread already - can the wasp get inside the rig via the outside?

Oh the joys of being back in Texas during Summer! Said no one ever!

Thanks, ya'll!

UPDATE: Waited until I saw the wasp trying to get back in again. Covered the vents with 3M Cold Weather Tape as a quick fix-it. Love that stuff.
