Louisiana Surprise

Unbelievable. This is our first winter/spring in the Southeast and I had something really surprise me. My wife and I had been hearing something outside the last few days, thought it was a couple of Canadien geese in the park. Was outside this evening, looking up at our rear slide when I noticed something looking at me from the slide seal. It was a barking tree frog. Coerced him out from on top of the slide, and off he hops. Beautiful creature, but I hope he stays out of the slide. he'll really be barking next time I bring the slide in!! These guys can make a serious racket.

You can keep them down there, but the way it's been raining in VA, I wouldn't be surprised to see some coming our way!

what you really need to be cautious and alert to, are the 'barking tree spiders'!

I love to hear them. We live in the woods and go to sleep every night in the summer listening to them.

What wakes me up is the Canada geese in the campground. These suckers start honking about 5:30 am, almost every morning. There are at least 6 sets of brand new chicks numbering from 2 to five in all these broods. Many of these geese families seem like they are acting territorial or honking at other breeds of birds that get too close. Because of the numerous water fowl at the campground any frog that makes a peep would be a dead frog.

Fauch, I'm hoping your barking tree spiders is a bunch of hooey.
