Norcold Freezer Frosting on Left Side

Our Norcold freezer always frosted up on left side. Dealer diagnosed loose seal and replaced left door under warranty because he couldn't get just seal. Now it's as bad as ever. It's frosts up a an inch in about 4 weeks. Does anybody have a solution?

I am in the habit of removing items from the freezer, one side at a time, putting it in a cooler and using plastic scraper to knock down the frost to what suits me. Part of life and having things to do. Both sides frost up over time and both doors seal very well, but every time you open a door or put in new trays of water for ice, you are letting in lots of humidity to make that frost. Pretty easy to do this and keep up with the white stuff. John

yep no matter what you do especially if you are a fulltimer is you will have to defrost about every 2 months,mine gets pretty thick sometimes,it was the same way on my Old Norcold on my 2012 and just the same on Dometic on my 2015 3735MK like jcurtis934 said freezing ice cubes and opening the door alot lets in humidity ,one thing that helps and I am two lazy to do it is after you make ice put it in a big Ziplock bag,But any way no big deal to defrost as I get a Hair dryer and put it on high speed WARM setting and get er done in about 1/2 hr and when it is all melted I take a Turkey baster and suck most of the water out then dry it good with a towel and then turn the fridge back on......DONE

We solved that problem by going to a Residential Fridge in our current SOB, had enough dealing with all the frost.

Take a dollar bill, half in and half out, close the door to your freezer. Try and pull that dollar bill out. IF it comes out easily the door is not aligned and does not close tight enough. If you can't pull that bill out then the door is sealing properly. If your dealer replaced the door, they may not have put it on correctly or adjusted the hinges and latch tight enough thus letting in the air and moisture from inside the unit. You don't say whether you have a four door or two door frig but from what I've been able to gather from sessions at the Fall Rally in Goshen, the left door on the two door Norcold freezer is suppose to be the coldest side of the unit and freeze the coldest.
Try the dollar bill test and if that does not work for you in determining the problem, give Norcold Customer Service a call and see what they have to say.

On our first Montana (2008 used), the Norcold was a single door and we would have to defrost about every 3 months while full time. The new Montana was the larger 2-door Norcold and we had to defrost about every 6 to 8 weeks. Not only that but with a gauge inside I could get readings anywhere from 5 to 22 degrees. The dealer checked it once under warranty and said everything was great.

Our 2015 with a dometic 4 door operated for five and one half months in Florida over the winter without any need to defrost
