rubber roof tear

got the monty home from winter hibernation and chaecked all normal things propane, water heater etc. climbed on the roof and washed from front to back and noticed 6-8 small little tears about a 10 inches in length along the right hand side at the lap area, can i use etherbond to patch the area or does anyone have any other ideas.

yes you can but clean it with asatone real good it will stay stuck that way. dont forget to use a wallpaper roller to actavate the tape after you put it on.

I had a similar set of tears (only for a longer distance - damn tree limb) on my last Montana. Eternabond covered the holes and was still firmly attached seven years later. It is good stuff.

P.S. These kinds of discoveries are why you should wash your roof periodically. Washing forces you to look closely at the entire surface.

That tape provides a repair tougher than the original roof. I have always carried a role; you can buy precut patches as well.

Never leave home without a couple patches in the toolbox. Oh! Wait, I full time. Guess I just always have some with me.

Be prepared when placing the eternabond on the roof. You get ONE chance. Where you place it is where it is going to stay! Guess how I know. I have three patches on my roof, 4 years old and they will outlast the rest of the roof.
