Lippert Automatic Leveling System

I was wondering if anyone else has had this happen with the leveling system.

After being in a site for a period of time we notice that there is a clicking sound when we move around in our camper. It happens after being in a site for a week or more. I was wondering if the system might be losing pressure, maybe? Our sites have been on gravel and maybe the gravel gives or shifts?

If you have had this happen what was the cause of it and how did you resolve it?

Thanks,
Jim & Marge

Last week we were in OC, MD at Frontier Town where the soil is pretty sandy. After 2 days I had problems with the bathroom door into the kitchen sticking when closing. I thought about it for a while then went outside and releveled. After it finished the door worked properly again. I'm sure the soil was soft and settled resulting in the trailer twisting. After I releveled that one time I did not have any problems for the duration.
I would releveled when you get the sound and see if it goes away.

When my levelers are down for a week or more in my storage area and I put my slides out and in sometimes I hear the levelers clicking while the slides are moving. I was also wondering if I was losing pressure. I am not on gravel, I am on blacktop.

We too have the various noises (clicks, thunks, etc.) from the levelers after being set up for some time. It happens on both solid pavement and dirt. I haven't tried re-leveling but I will now.

We had it happen sitting on gravel for three months in Arizona. After re-leveling the noise stopped. I suspect the surface settles. I don't think there is a pressure loss.

Isn't it nice to be able to push a button to relevel? Lucky you!

We had ours installed last June. We don't have the noises you are referring to. We do, however, find that we have to relevel after a while, especially if it has been raining and we are not on a hard surface.

Thanks for the replies and information. Rather have it be the ground re-settling and not a problem with the system.

When you re-level it, do you pull the slides in and automatic re-level it or do it manually?

If you hit auto retract, you will put the nose of your 5er to the ground. However, if you push any button while the jacks are moving, the control module will stop the jacks.

I usually have a million things out and it would be hard to pull all 5 slides in and use the automatic. I put it in manual mode and give each position (front, rear, left, and right) a momentary push of the button watching for movement of the coach. Of course when all 4 have been pushed I may have to hit one of the positions to turn off the light that indicates a low position at that point.
I have also made 6 blocks out of treated lumber (2x10 and 2 ply) that I now place under the Jack pads when I feel I am on soft ground. It helps somewhat.

I have my slides out before I hit Auto Level, no reason to put the slides in.
